Urgent Appeal — Help Keep Families and Pets Together

Pet ownership is breaking people. Food, medicines, insurance and basics have surged, some vet prescriptions up 150%, dog food has doubled, and everyday costs keep climbing. Families are being forced into impossible choices: skip meals, surrender pets, or face the heartbreak of euthanasia.

Our Work and Why It Matters

We supply free pet food to 34 human foodbanks across South Wales so people do not have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pets. Since 2018, we have delivered over 370,000 pet meals and diverted over 14 tons from landfill. Our community pop‑up shop which is open to all, sells donated leads, collars, harnesses for £1, baby to teen clothes 10 for a £1. Clothes from 20p - £3, everything at rock‑bottom prices to help families stretch every pound.

The Emergency Right Now

We are homeless. Rising rent means fundraising only covers overheads, not both rent and overheads. Grants are scarce and unpredictable. We secured £250,000 toward a permanent home, but due to a very large well-known grantor letting us down after a 7-month application, we must raise an additional £122,000 in 4 weeks or we lose that grant. Without this, we cannot rent the warehouse we need or keep the pop‑up shop and food deliveries running. To simply cover rent for the space we need costs £35,000 a year.

The community lifeline we are ready to grow

We are dreaming bigger for our community. With a larger, welcoming space, we will be able to offer so much more than practical support, we will create a true haven. A place where people can come to ease loneliness, find mental‑health support, connect with fellow Carers, or simply sit with a warm drink and chat with friendly faces and likeminded pet lovers.

This is only the beginning. What we are building has the potential to become a vibrant, inclusive hub that lifts people up when they need it most.

If any companies or major donors would like to stand with us on this journey, we would be honored to display a placard at our front door in recognition of your support.

This is urgent. If we fail, services will stop and people and pets will suffer.

Real Voices

“I fed my dog pasta. I know it’s no good for him, but it’s all I had.”

“My dog is my world, my only friend. Your pet food helps me keep him”

“I am a carer, its hard but knowing I can come to volunteer with you, gets me out of the house and keeps me sane”

This is what the cost‑of‑living crisis is forcing families to do.

How You Can Help Now

•  Give what you can — even £1 makes a difference.

•  Share this appeal with family, friends, colleagues, social media and social groups.

Act Immediately

We have stood with South Wales through floods, COVID and the cost‑of‑living crisis. Now we need you. Please donate or share today, help us finish the job and keep people and pets together. Without immediate support, we may have to close or stop the pop‑up shop. People and pets are family. Help us protect that family now.

Warehouse is closed

We had hoped to share exciting news this week about expanding with four new outlets. Instead, we’re heartbroken to announce that we’ll be closing our warehouse.

After three years of being a reliable, respectful tenant, always paying rent and maintenance on time, the landlord has proposed a £5,000 a year rent increase and renewal terms we simply cannot accept. We were already stretched thin, and this increase makes it impossible to continue operating from the warehouse.

But this is not the end of our charity. We will continue distributing food to those in need, though we’ll be downsizing and working from our van for the time being. So please don't shout at our outlets when they run out of pet food, as there will only be so much we can provide.

Behind the scenes, we’re doing everything we can to keep going. We’re currently awaiting decisions from two grantors, if awarded, their support could save the charity. If not, we’ll need to rethink how we move forward.

In just seven years, we’ve come so far. We’ve helped countless people and pets in crisis, and we’re determined not to give up. Your support has meant the world, to us and to those we serve. Thank you for standing with us.

And please no donations as we no longer have anywhere to put them.
